MATERIALS LIST FOR JANUARY
Wednesday Zoom Art Lessons 4:30pm –
- 1/3 – Winter Forest Paper Mosaic: 2 sheets of black construction paper (or cardstock); 1 sheet of paper of white paper, light blue, dark blue (or purple); glue or glue stick; scissors; pencil or white crayon.
- 1/10 – Snowflake Watercolor Circles: 1-2 pieces of white paper (cardstock is helpful); scissors; permanent black marker, like a Sharpie; watercolors, water & paintbrush; markers; glue stick (optional); extra piece of paper in any color.
- 1/17 – Mandala Hands: white paper (large enough to trace both hands) or use template; pencil; black markers; color pencils or markers.
- 1/24 – Spotlight Artist Claes Oldenburg – Sculpture: piece of cardboard/cereal box measuring anywhere from 6”x6” to 8”x8” (any size will do; you can also use a small canvas board); aluminum foil; red paper scraps; scrap of black paper; glue; acrylic paints (blue & green); paint brushes.
- 1/31 – Spotlight Artist Claes Oldenburg – Texture Collage Art: white paper (for background); construction paper in brown, red, yellow, and white; tissue paper in green, pink/red; glue; markers; paper plate (the plain flat kind – or use white paper); scissors; hole punch (optional)

CRAFTING A CALMER SELF – RECIPE & SHOPPING LIST FOR JANUARY
Tuesday Zoom Creative Cooking Lessons 4:30pm –
- 1/9 – Basic Scones: all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, baking soda, unsalted butter (frozen), raisins (or dried cranberries), sour cream, an egg, white sugar
- 1/10 – Brown Irish Bread: Flour Mixture (whole wheat flour, wheat bran, and all-purpose flour – or just use all purpose), buttermilk, Baking Soda, salt, butter, Molasses.
- 1/17 – Healthy Morning Glory Breakfast Muffins: white whole wheat flour (or whole wheat or all-purpose), quick-cooking “instant” oats, baking soda, cinnamon, ground ginger, salt, 3 large eggs, unsweetened applesauce, olive oil, maple syrup or honey, orange, orange juice (or use the orange), grated carrot, apple, raisins, pecans (optional).
TEMPERATURE SCARF PATTERN & PLANNER
KNIT VERSION
- MATERIALS: Straight Needles Size US 6 (4mm) and medium weight yarn in 10-11 colors
- Day 1/Row 1: cast on 55 stitches, knit 1 row in appropriate color for Day 1.
- Day 2 and each day following Knit 2 rows (one out, one back to the start) in each day’s Daily High Temperature.
- Continue until desired length.
- One year will be approximately 10” wide by 72” long.
CROCHET VERSION
- MATERIALS: Crochet hook Size F-7 (4.5 mm)
- Day 1/Row 1: chain 40 single crochet in color appropriate for Day 1. Single crochet into the 2nd chain from the hook. Continue single crochet (sc) until the end of the row.
- Row 2 and each day following: Turn your work and chain 1. Sc across, changing colors to match Daily High Temperature.
- Continue until desired length.
- One year will be approximately 10” wide by 72” long.

- 1 skein of Lion Brand Vanna's Choice yarn (solid, medium tones best) and J-10 (6.00mm) hook.
- Your hook matches your yarn weight.
